Name
Inclusionary Housing in Communities of Color: Confronting the Controversy
Date & Time
Thursday, October 4, 2018, 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Zach Murray Jillian Olinger Pamela Wideman
Description
“Inclusionary housing” in gentrifying neighborhoods where non-White residents have long lived promises affordable housing with easy access to improving “amenities” like safety, parks, shopping, schools, and jobs. What’s not to like? Plenty, say the non-White residents of these neighborhoods and their allies.  Join us as we highlight the concerns that often drive opposition to inclusionary housing policies in communities of color.  Together, participants will brainstorm  possible strategies to address these concerns or to avoid the circumstances that give rise to them in the first place.
