Affordable rental housing plays a fundamental role in creating and preserving inclusive communities. Too often, affordable rental homes are created using short-term affordability periods and we worry that these critical units are lost to the market. But are they? This session will explore what we know about expiration to the market, what data we have available, what innovative tools exist to prevent expiration and what a rental preservation policy framework could look like.
