Oakland Community Land Trust
Steve King is the Executive Director of the Oakland Community Land Trust, a nonprofit organization dedicated to removing land, housing, and other community-serving real estate assets from the speculative market and stewarding them with, and for the permanent benefit of, low-income Oakland residents. He is also a Senior Advisor at Urban Strategies Council in Oakland, California, a nonprofit social impact organization that uses tools of policy, research, advocacy, innovation, and collaboration to advance principles of equity and social justice. He has spent the past 15 years working for nonprofit organizations in the areas of affordable housing, applied social research, and equitable community development. He holds a MS in Urban Planning from Columbia University, and a BA in Environmental Science with a specialization in Geographic Analysis from Boston University.
