Speaker Bio
Long active in the movement to create affordable housing and sustainable communities, she is a founder and Board member of CLAM -- Community Land Trust Association of West Marin-- and a founder and developer of one of the country's oldest co-housing communities -- Southside Park Cohousing in Sacramento. In 2015, she and a team from the California Community Land Trust Network successfully persuaded CA legislators to allow for equitable property tax assessment for housing located on community land trust land. They are continuing to promote property tax legislation to make CLTs viable in areas with high land costs. She is a "retired" attorney with a passion for international human rights and the concept of Housing as a Human Right.
