As Assistant Director of the City of Austin Neighborhood Housing and Community Development Department, Giello oversees a number of areas including Real Estate Services; Planning, Policy and Outreach; and program delivery for a variety of programs designed to assist Austin's low income community. Her public sector career spans more than 20 years– previously in a number of positions to include Corporate Communications and Public Information Office overseeing media relations for the City of Austin. Previous housing experience includes property management expertise for multi-family developments. Rebecca holds two degrees from Texas State University -- a bachelor in Mass Communication with a focus in Public Relations and a Master of Public Administration (MPA).
