In this session, participants will work in small groups to design an inclusionary housing policy for a sample city. Using Grounded Solutions Network’s Inclusionary Housing Calculator tool, participants will make key policy choices such as: What percentage of new market-rate development should be set aside at lower prices for low-income residents? What household income levels do we want to serve with our program? What incentives will be offered to developers to help offset the cost of providing affordable units? Participants will also learn the pros and cons of various other key policy options (e.g. will participation be mandatory or voluntary?) and decide what makes sense for their sample city.
