Dr. Paula-Noel Macfie is a fifth-generation Oregonian and has been a community land trust owner through Proud Ground since 2012. Paula-Noel taught Recovery of Indigenous Mind at PSU in the Conflict Resolution Department while concurrently being diagnosed with MS. Along with becoming an innovator in lifestyle for MS, she started a business in 2015 called Back Door Medicine, LLC. Her mission is to provide access to decolonizing research methods along with cannabis suppository education to low-income people. Her business is supported by the Native American Youth and Family Association.

She has served as a Resident Ambassador for Grounded Solutions Network since 2017 and is also currently on the Community Energy Project’s Advisory Committee.
