Lydia had thirty years of organizing experience in Boston Chinatown prior to becoming director of the Chinatown Community Land Trust in 2015. Some of her projects at CCLT include organizing to reclaim public parcels for democratic community control, negotiating agreements that increase community control of development, advocacy for rezoning that protects Chinatown’s historic row house streets, and seeking creative opportunities to preserve these 19th century buildings as permanently affordable housing. Lydia is a founding member of the Right to the City Alliance and its Homes for All campaign as well as the Greater Boston Community Land Trust Network and serves on Boston Mayor Marty Walsh’s Housing Advisory Task Force.
