Description
Increased public attention on the intergenerational consequences of our country’s racially unjust systems has experienced a resurgence over the past couple of years. Many Americans still live in communities concentrated with poverty and unequal access to opportunity, most notably, according to their race. More blatantly, federal, state and local policy practices threaten to exacerbate these unjust trends. Reversing the impact of systemic racism requires going beyond the technical nuts and bolts of programming -- -it means understanding how history still informs how we operate today and what can be done to halt and reverse the impacts of years of institutional and systemic discrimination. Join us to examine and discuss the national challenge, opportunity and the difference that can be made for the communities we serve through the application of racial equity strategies into our work. Grounded Solutions members, staff and other key stakeholders will share about the progress and challenges of undertaking this journey.
